Direct Heat Use in Lac La Biche Region

Part 1 of 2

July 14, 2020

How can the Lac La Biche region diversify their energy mix? Terrapin starts the conversation with the utilization of low-temperature heat resources.

Lac La Biche, like the rest of Alberta, is still very dependent on fossil fuels. Meanwhile, heat is abundant, valuable to the community and economy, and is often overlooked in energy diversification conversations.

Through this webinar, Terrapin provides a brief geothermal heat resource assessment of the Lac La Biche region, technologies that can be used to capture low-temperature heat, and examples of how they can be deployed for direct heat use.

This webinar is Part 1 of a webinar series hosted by Community Futures Lac La Biche, and sponsored by Energy Efficiency Alberta and Lac La Biche County.
